About us

Short history: Open Government Institute is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization. It was founded in 2002 and known, till very recently, as “CMB” Training Center, which was reorganized at the end of 2013. For more than 10 years, “CMB” Training Center implemented several initiatives and projects based on critical thinking philosophy and methodology through advocacy, capacity building, research, and evaluation. More about our past experiences can be found on Projects, Publications or Initiatives Pages.

Mission and main objectives: To continue building on these efforts, Open Government Institute looks at promoting open government, transparency and social accountability, citizen-engagement, and participatory democracy at national, regional and international level. It focuses on creating opportunities for citizens and broader civil society to improve the quality of the public services by allowing citizens to engage in decision-making processes and public participation through different forums, platforms, tools.
